Volume 14, No. 5

April, 2005

Bethany will be available for cross-examination (peer hours) Wednesdays 10-12, while Katie prefers to keep her options open at this point in time.  "Don't call me, I'll call you."  That's a quote.
Of course we have all of our continuing peers here to assist you. They are Zack Almquist, (boy) Jaime Wren, Josiah Thornton, Nathan Collins, (girl) Jamie Curtis, Jeff Lamb, Crissy Jo Serviss, Eric Boyd, The Eagle, Liz Esterberg, and yours truly. All of our hours are posted under the mailboxes in 108 Deady.

NEW PEERS

by David Jordan

Come one, come all - and meet your new math peer advisors.  To my left, the lovely Bethany Parkyn.  To my right the equally lovely Katie Nelson.  That creepy kid spying on us from behind that tree?  Well, that's Nathan but never mind him...
Let's start with Katie!  Despite her senior standing, this is only her second year at the U of O.  One can only assume she amassed large amounts of useless Advanced Placement credits, for which we are very proud of her.  She's from Springfield, OR but we don't hold that against her.  Her favorite math class taken at the UO has been Linear Algebra.  Why?  Beats me!  She became a math major because she "always liked math."  Her other interests are astronomy, opera (not Oprah), piano, and travelling (ha studiato in Italia per un anno).  We welcome her and wish her luck.
Moving on...Bethany!  She's from Hillsboro, near Portland.  She has a business minor and is in the honors college, which means she got out of WR121!  Suckers!  Her favorite professor so far has been Dan Dugger, while her least favorite instructor is her cat Mittens, who thinks she knows everything (which she doesn't, not even close). Her favorite class so far was multivariable calculus (again beats me).  Plans? Peace Corps, and maybe teach high school.  Or maybe work at Cinnabon.  What's it to you?  Huh?
