| Text: | Contemporary Precalculus: A Graphing Approach, Fourth Ed.,by Thomas W. Hungerford | |
Note: There are two versions of the textbook available: the normal hardback version, and a custom paperback version. The custom version only contains chapters 1–5, but is cheaper. Math 112 requires the full version of the textbook, so if there is any possibility that you will take Math 112 (or the standard calculus sequence), you should buy the full, hardcover version, which you use in Math 112. However, if you are absolutely, positively sure you are only taking Math 111 (and you should check to make sure your major doesn’t require Math 112), the softcover version is appropriate (and lighter on your wallet). You may have noticed that a CD-ROM comes with some of the textbooks. I won’t be requiring it, although you might find it helpful. | ||
| Prerequisites: | Math 095 or equivalent proficiency. | |
| A graphing calculator. We recommend the TI-83 Plus or TI-83. | ||
| Coordinator: | Wendy Sullivan | |
Resources for Math 111—This page lists resources for students in Math 111. This class is one of the best supported at the University, in terms of tutoring help available. If you need help, I strongly encourage you to get help as early in the term as possible. DO NOT leave getting problems fixed until near finals. Fix problems early!

Handouts
Most online versions of handouts are in the Portable Document File format and require a special reader. You probably already have a PDF viewer installed on your system. If not, some PDF viewers include GSView and Adobe Reader (previously known as Acrobat Reader). These programs are included on the Duckware CD.
