Homework: due weekly in class on Fridays.
Exams: We'll have one in-class midterm on Friday, February 6, and our final is scheduled at 10:15 on Tuesday, March 16th (in our classroom).
Grades: will be based 40% on homework, 20% on the midterm and 40% on the final.
Text: Basic Topology, M. A. Armstrong, Springer. We will cover (roughly) chapters 5-7 this term. This text is concise (well, sometimes that means explanations are so brief that they are hard to understand). If you have trouble understanding an idea in this text, I recommend looking at Topology by Jim Munkres, second edition. This is very well written, and less concise than Armstrong's book.
course.
