Text: College Mathematics Applied to the
Real World by
Waner and Costenoble.
Homework: Homework will be assigned daily and is due at the beginning of each class.
Late homework will not be accepted. Homework accounts for 10% of your grade.
Midterms: There will be a midterm exam each Friday during the first
hour of class. We will have class the second hour
of exam days. Each midterm is worth 100 points. A make up exam will be given
only if I am informed before the scheduled test and then only for a substantial reason.
Final Exam: The final exam will be during the last class meeting, Friday, July 14 in our usual classroom. The
final is worth 150 points.
Grading: The number of points possible is:
| Homework | 50 points |
| Midterms | 300 points |
| Final Exam | 150 points |
| Total | 500 points |
Grades will be assigned more or less on the 10% scale (i.e.,
450-500=A, etc.).
Calculators: You are required to have a graphing calculator for this class. I use the TI-83, but get the calculator you like.
